Okay so this post is wayyyyy overdue! I went to this event on Thursday 25th
September but I have been sooo busy this week I am only just catching up with
myself today! I’m back at University and I’ve been to a few events recently so I’ve
had no time, so I’m going to jam you with posts over the next couple of days to
catch you up with my time!!
So the Buy Art Fair is an event I have attended with my dad for the past few
years. We really enjoy going to look at the different styles of art and design
for both enjoyment acting posh and snobby and inspiration. As I am an aspiring
fashion designer and technologist, my dad is a professional photographer so we
are both looking for inspiration constantly.
We were invited to preview night which is great, the few days after preview especially
the Saturday is so busy you can’t move, so the preview night is nice as you can
kind of float round and take your time…plus there is free wine!! There is
always so much I love here, but I had snapped a few pictures of my favourite pieces,
which are shown below. As any art lovers will know, it is not always particularly
easy to take pictures at an exhibition, as not everyone is happy about it, so
the photos are not from the best angle or greatest quality but it gives you a
taste of what it is about! Make sure you register yourself for free tickets
next year!!!
Normal Gallery Art and Sole Artists...
These were so clever, it was like a line drawing but made from thin wire and placed over a pice of paper.
These were my favourite pieces as I am very fond of abstract art!
Contemporary Art...
These rugs were really amusing to stand by as people didnt want to walk over them but they were there to be walked over as the artist wanted you to stand above the black hole and view the depth.

My mum met us towards the end of the show and we decided to go for a bite to
eat. We wandered down Deansgate towards the car and stopped off at a place
called Dimitri’s Bar and Tavern. It was a cute little bar, we had 10 tapas
dishes for £40, which I think, is a bargain for town! Plus, it was delicious. We
couldn’t squeeze desert in but when we asked for the bill they brought me and
my dad an aperitif (mum was driving) it was a shot served with a wedge of lime
and the waiter said to suck the lime first and then drink the shot and it would
taste like cheesecake, it did!!! It was such a yummy way to finish off dinner
when you could not fit a dessert in! The bill topped up to around £60, which is
fab for three people having dinner and drinks in town, I would definitely recommend
you taking a visit here!
We started the meal with a btottle of Corona and Lime
So much food!!!
